Snowmass is the biggest of the four Aspen Snowmass mountains, larger, by the resort's own description, than the other three combined. It has 3,342 acres and 4,406 feet of vertical, which Aspen Snowmass calls the highest vertical rise in the country, from a base at 8,104 feet to 12,510 feet.

The terrain ranges from wide-open groomers and glades to the burly steeps of the Cirque and the steeper Hanging Valley, and Noon Groom is a signature cruiser. The mountain also has three terrain parks and the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster for a non-ski break.

Snowmass opened in December 1967. Like Aspen's other mountains, it's on the Ikon Pass and Mountain Collective; the Ikon Base Pass gives five days at Snowmass only. The 2026-27 season is scheduled for November 26, 2026 through April 11, 2027. Check current Snowmass ski conditions before you go.
