View More →Loveland sits on the Continental Divide next to the Eisenhower Tunnel, which puts it closer to Denver than the big destination resorts. It's run by the independent Clear Creek Skiing Corporation and has no on-site lodging. The area lists 1,800 acres, 94 runs, a base at 10,800 feet and a top at 13,010 feet for a 2,210-foot vertical. It reports more than 380 inches of snow, and it has 240 acres of snowmaking.
There are two bases: Loveland Basin, with steeps, trees, cruisers and open bowls, and Loveland Valley, a beginner-focused area. The terrain breaks down as 13% beginner, 41% intermediate and 46% advanced, with 100 additional hikeable acres and a longest run of two miles. The Ridge Cat offers snowcat skiing.
The area says the season can run from mid-October into early May, among Colorado's earliest starts. Loveland's history page records a rope tow in 1936-37, and it was the first major Colorado ski area with snowmaking, in 1967-68. It's on the Indy Pass for 2026-27.
