Chapman Hill is owned by the City of Durango, which makes it one of the few ski hills in Colorado that sits inside a town. It serves beginners, freestyle skiers and local race teams, with steeper terrain at the top, a gentler beginner area below and an ice arena at the base.

The city installed snowmaking in 2010. Public reporting puts the hill's vertical at about 500 feet. Last season it ran from December 20 to March 11 and closed early in a warm winter, with weekend daytime and weekday evening hours.

The City of Durango's page said the hill was closed and to follow Parks and Recreation for the 2026-27 opening, so confirm dates before you head over. If you're looking for a bigger mountain near Durango, see Purgatory Resort.
