View More →Telluride Ski Resort is the big, serious mountain in Colorado's San Juans, rising above the town of Telluride and Mountain Village. You get more than 2,000 skiable acres, 148 trails and 17 lifts, including two high-speed gondolas, plus a total vertical of 4,425 feet, from an 8,725-foot base to a 13,150-foot top. The resort says it picks up about 280 inches of snow in a typical year.
This is a mountain that leans toward confident skiers. The resort's own breakdown is 23% beginner, 36% intermediate and 41% advanced or expert. The lifts can move more than 22,000 people an hour, and the longest run, Galloping Goose, stretches 4.6 miles, so even on a busy day there's room to spread out. Newer skiers can still find their terrain here, but they'll want to study the trail map first.
Telluride opened for skiing in 1972 and is independently owned and operated. It isn't a full Epic or Ikon resort, but it is an Epic Pass partner: Epic Pass holders get seven unrestricted days, then 50% off further days, and the terms can change from season to season. Before you book, check the current Telluride ski conditions for weather, the snowfall forecast and snow depth.
Stats from Telluride Ski Resort (official site), as of Oct 2026. (source) Conditions and pass partners change by season — confirm with the area before you go.
