Who to call for electricity, gas, water, trash and internet in Napa Valley, and when to schedule the switch-over so you're not moving in without power.
Electric & Natural Gas
- Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) ↗ Start or transfer service online, or call 1-800-743-5000. Do this at least a few business days before move-in.
Water
- City of Napa Utilities Department -- Water Division ↗ 707-257-9521. In-person at 1700 Second St, Suite 100, Napa (Mon-Thu, 8am-5pm).
Trash & Recycling
- City of Napa Utilities Department -- Solid Waste & Recycling ↗ Same department and contact as water; ask about bin size and pickup day for your address.
Internet & Cable
- Xfinity (Comcast) and AT&T are the primary options for most Napa addresses ↗ Coverage varies block by block -- use a provider's address-lookup tool (or the comparison link) to confirm what's available at your specific address before you commit to a plan.
Before You Flip the Switch
- Schedule your move-in utility start date a few days before you actually arrive, not on moving day itself -- same-day activations aren't always guaranteed.
- If you're renting, ask your landlord which utilities (if any) are already included before signing up for anything.
- Keep your final bill address from your old utility provider -- you'll often need it to close out or transfer service without a gap in billing.
