Eastwood Home Tour presented by East End District

About This Event

As we mark the 28th Annual Eastwood Home Tour, we hope you will join us to celebrate and rediscover Eastwood’s heritage! In 1913, developer William A. Wilson began creating a residential oasis for young families in the enclave he named Eastwood. Just a mile east of downtown Houston and connected by the city’s electric trolley system, Eastwood was considered thoroughly modern for its time. The first homes built here included custom-designed Craftsman bungalows, Four-Square, Tudor bungalows, Arts and Crafts, and Mission-style houses. As Houston grew, the farmland surrounding Eastwood gave way to additional neighborhoods — from the tiny four-block community of Dixie to the 300+ homes of Broadmoor. Together, these communities remain one of the area’s largest intact collections of early 20th-century architectural styles.Today, the Eastwood Home Tour celebrates this unique legacy by showcasing the beauty, character, and craftsmanship of our historic neighborhood. This October, peek inside the homes and lives of neighbors in Eastwood. Visit six properties including one of the first three homes built in Eastwood in 1912 and the recently restored L.M. Greco building formerly a 1920's grocery store in the heart of the neighborhood and now home to local favorite, Willow’s Smokehouse and Tavern.
