Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodriguez and percussionist Pedrito Martinez leave audiences mesmerized by their fearless and virtuosic playing. Rodriguez trained in Havana’s rigorous classical conservatories. His artistry is shaped as much by Bach and Stravinsky as by Afro-Cuban rhythms and jazz. Martinez’s musical training came directly from the streets of Old Havana. The unique backgrounds of these Grammy nominees create an extraordinary synergy. Together, these two master musicians take listeners on a unique and exciting journey from Cuban classics to collaborative original compositions and unexpected favorites.
