About This Event
Denver Playground Ensemble's theatrical string quartet brings Gabriela Ortiz's ceremonial Altar de Muertos music to life with water drums, ankle rattles, and masks by local Mexican artist Josefina Calzada. An ofrenda (altar) will also be provided for the audience to display photos of dear ones who have passed. This one-time performance takes place inside the OZ Gallery, located at the Thornton Arts and Culture Center, surrounded by Cal Duran’s exhibit entitled Muertos: A Journey of Life and Death as One.
