Roxborough State Park

A short drive southwest of Denver, the park’s tilted red sandstone formations rise from 3,413 acres of foothills habitat shaped by the Fountain Formation. Visitors come for 15 miles of trails, birding among 145 recorded species, and wildlife viewing that can include mule deer, elk, black bears, and prairie dogs.
